General Information

Steins;Gate (シュタインズ・ゲート / SHUTAINZU GEETO) is a 2009 science fiction visual novel game developed by 5pb. and Nitroplus. It is the second game in the Science Adventure series.

The game first published 15 October 2009 on Xbox360 at Japan. At 26 August 2010, windows version released with regular and limited edition, this version contain additional CGs. PlayStation Portable version released on 23 June 2011 with new opening movie, new opening theme, & new ending theme. iOS version got released on 25 August 2011. PlayStation 3 version got released on 24 May 2012, with PlayStation Vita got same new opening movie. PlayStation Vita version got released on 14 March 2013, with PlayStation 3 got same new opening movie. Android version got released on 27 June 2013. PlayStation 3 version got released on 10 December 2015, with higher quality assets.

On 31 March 2014, JAST USA release PC English version with standard and limited edition, the limited edition contain a deluxe collector's box, a fan book with artwork, a set of replica Future Gadget Laboratory pins, the manual, and game disc. PQube released PlayStation 3 & PlayStation Vita version at Europe on 5 June 2015 and at North America on 25 August 2015. Steam & iOS version got released on 9 September 2016 and on 1 May 2018, Spike Chunsoft took over publishing of the Steam version of the game from Mages/5pb.

Steins;Gate follows a rag-tag band of tech-savvy young students who discover the means of changing the past via mail, using a modified microwave. Their experiments into how far they can go with their discovery begin to spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organization behind the Large Hadron Collider, and John Titor who claims to be from a dystopian future.


Gameplay

This game require little interaction to play and used "phone trigger" system for decide which route you're going. Player will receive calls in games, which you player could choose to answer or not. And there's also text messages, contain hyperlink text to as subject to reply the message or not. Depending on player respond to those calls and messages, the plot will progress in specific route.
