Story

It's difficult to distinguish childhood memories from dreams, like those happy times when you visited your grandfather on his farm. There was a girl-or maybe she was part of a dream. All you know is that a decade has passed and all that you own are memories and the tired, dilapidated remains of your grandfather's labor. While the local villagers remember your grandfather, they don't trust you. The mayor has generously allowed you to return to your ancestral home, but on the condition that you restore the farm and fit in with your neighbors. At the end of three years, the village will vote determine if you can stay, or if you need to pack your bags and move on. Memories might be precious, but nothing will give you more satisfaction then making all of your childhood dreams come true.

Harvest Moon: Back to Nature starts in a new town called Mineral Town, with some new characters. You will meet some old but some of them are with new families. There's many new festivals you can play. You can train your dog or horse to win festivals. You can mine in two different mines. You will marry the same girls from Harvest Moon 64. There are many different events you can see, some of them might take years to see them.

When you plant 90 flowers and once they all bloom, Anna will come to your farm. If you let her pick some flowers she will give you one.
If you mine to the bottom of the Winter Mine you'll find a pond. Go fishing for a while at the pond you might get one.

Spring 08 - Goddess Festival: This is when the five girls dance around on the square. The day before the Goddess Festival ask the girl you like to go with you to the dance.
Spring 14 - Thanksgiving Festival: This is when you give one of the girls Sweets.
Spring 18 - Local Horse Race: This festival is when you race your Horse. Also you can bet on other Horses to earn Medals for prizes.
Spring 22 - Cooking Festival: Bring the Food if you want to participate. This is quite hard festival because Ann or Doug always wins.
Summer 01 - Opening Day: This is the day you can swim at the Beach. Try winning the Swimming race!
Summer 07 - Chicken Festival: This festival is Chicken fighting. If you win all rounds, your Chicken will start laying Golden Eggs.
Summer 12 - Tomato Festival: This festival, you throw tomatoes at anyone.
Summer 20 - Cow Festival: The day before this festival, Barley will come over and ask you what Cow you want to put in the festival. Pick the one that has the most hearts. Next day go to the Yodel Ranch and see if you won the festival.
Summer 24 - Fireworks Display: At 06:00 PM go to the Beach. Once you are there, pick a girl who you want to watch the fireworks with you.
Fall 03 - Music Festival: Carter will come to your house and ask you if you want to play in the festival. If you say yes go to the church at 06:00 PM.
Fall 09 - Harvest Festival: Bring one of your Crops (or edible Items) to drop it in to the huge pot. Then enjoy some Stew with all villager.
Fall 13 - Moon Viewing: Go to the top of Mother's Hill, you'll find girl that have highest Love level there and you'll watch the moon with her.
Fall 21 - Sheep Festival: Barley comes over to your house and asks if what Sheep you want to put in the festival. Pick the one that has the most hearts. Next day go to the Yodel Ranch at 10:00 AM. If your Sheep wins, it will start producing Golden Wool.
Winter 10 - Dog Race: Same as the Horse race but it's for your Dog. You can bet on Dogs to earn you Medals for prizes.
Winter 14 - Winter Thanksgiving: The girl with highest Love level will come over to your farm and give you a sweet treat.
Winter 24 - Star Night Festival: The girl with highest Love level will invite you to have dinner with her.
Winter 30 - News Year's Eve: Go to the top of Mother's hill at 12:00 AM and watch the sunrise with the villages.

Strange Salesman:
- When: Year 1, Spring 3
- Where: Your Farm
- At morning Won will wander onto your farm. He sells unusual seeds which are not available at the Supermarket. After he leaves your farm, go to the Rose Square and talk to Harris. When Harris leaves, Won will come to the Rose Square and you will talk more. Then go to Gotz house and speak with Harris again, and Won will eventually come on and you all will work things out. You can find him at the Inn during the day.
Pay Your Bill:
- When: Year 1, Spring
- Where: Supermarket
- The first time you visit the Supermarket, you will notice some other villagers purchasing goods from Jeff, but they are not paying for them. Suggest to the villager that he should pay and Karen, will appear and make sure that they do. This is the first time in which you will meet Karen and it marks the beginning of a brand new friendship.
Rick and Popuri:
- When: Year 1, Spring
- Where: Poultry Farm
- While passing by the Poultry Farm, you might witness an argument between Rick and Popuri. Stop by and speak with Rick and he will tell you what started the argument. Popuri forgot to put the Chickens away, and one of them died. Go to the Hot Springs and you will find Popuri. Speak to Popuri and console her on her loss.
Pony:
- When: Year 1, Spring, 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM
- Where: Yodel Farm
- The first time you stop by Yodel Farm during the day, Barley Yodel will call you over and ask you if you could care for a Pony which they have. Answer with a Yes, and the Pony will be yours. You'll find your new pony in your Horse Stable. It takes one full year for the Pony to become a mature Horse.
Fight at the Inn:
- When: Year 1, Summer, 05:00 PM - 12:00 AM
- Where: Inn
- Duke, Jeff, Rick, and Kai are involved in a fight. Duke argues that Kai comes to the village every summer to charm the ladies and the children, and accuses him of being deceptive. Duke will ask you what you think about it. You can answer that Kai is wrong, both guys are wrong, or you don't know and don't care. If you say Kai is wrong, no one is happy except Duke. If you say both are wrong or that you don't care, the others will be happy.
Harvesting Grapes:
- When: Year 1, Fall 14
- Where: Your Farm
- Duke will visit you and ask you if you can harvest some Grapes. If you say yes, you must show up at the Aja Winery around 11:30 until 05:00 PM every day for about a week. Duke will also ask you to find some additional help for him, so ask Cliff. If you don't, eventually Cliff will leave the village. Your goal is to pick 16 bunches of grapes every day. If you collect all 16 bunches by the end of the day, Duke will pay you well and Manna will be very happy. Warning: Cliff will go to a spot in the Vineyard and never move. You must get to that spot before Cliff does, or you won't be able to harvest all 16 bunches.
Shall We Dance?:
- When: Year 2, Spring 1, 12:00 PM - 03:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- Karen will stop by your farm and ask you if you would like to practice dancing with her for the New Year's Festival later that day. Practice dancing with Karen, and then ask her to dance with you when you arrive at the New Year's Festival.
Watch the Fireworks:
- When: Year 2, Summer 23, 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM
- Where: Mineral Beach
- Talk to Kai the day before the Fireworks Festival, and ask him to watch them with you. This will improve your friendship with him.
Flashing Object:
- When: Year 4, Winter, after 05:00 PM
- Where: Church
- Stand in front of the Church after 05:00 PM, on a sunny day, you will see a flashing object.
Meeting Gray:
- When: Year 1 or 2, Fall 1 - 27, When you wake up
- Where: Your Farm
- During your first or second year on your farm, Gray may stop by. Gray is angry with his grandfather Saibara, and wants to work on his own. Gray will ask to use your Water Mill to make a Hammer. In return, he will weed your field once. After a few days, Gray will ask you to try the Hammer he's made, but when you do, it crumbles. Mary will witness this event, which leads to another event in which Mary scolds Gray in the Rose Square. Later, Gray will thank you, improving your friendship with him.
Missing May:
- When: Year 1 or 2, Summer, Fall, or Winter 2 - 27, 06:00 AM - 01:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- Barley stops by the farm one day and asks for your help finding May. Go to the pier at 06:00 PM to find her.
Apple Pie:
- When: Year 1 - 3, Summer, Fall, or Winter 6 - 27, 06:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- If you are a friend of Mayor Thomas, he will come by your farm and ask you to take a piece of Apple Pie to Ellen. Buy it at the Inn. When you deliver the piece, Ellen offers you a tip. Decline her offer and Elli will show up with another piece of pie for her grandmother. Because Ellen already has a piece, Elli will give it to you instead. The next day, Mayor Thomas will come to your farm and give you a cake.
Moondrop Seeds:
- When: Spring 1 - 20
- Where: Your Farm
- Sometime between the Spring 1 - 20, Karen will give you a bag of Moondrop Seeds (if she likes you). Plant the seeds and give her the flowers when they bloom.
Corn for Kai:
- When: Summer 15 - 29, 06:00 AM - 01:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- Kai will stop by the farm and ask to buy Corn from you. Sell the Corn to Kai for 50 G and his friendship towards you will raise.
Birthday Party:
- When: Summer 17, 10:00 AM - 06:00 PM
- Where: Inn
- If an invitation appears in your mailbox at the beginning of summer, you may attend Ann's birthday party. Take the invitation and go to Ann's House between 10:00 AM and 06:00 PM. Don't forget to bring a wrapped present!
End to Summer:
- When: Fall 1
- Where: Your Farm
- Kai stops by to say good-bye.
Memories:
- When: Fall 5, after 05:00 PM
- Where: Mother's Hill Peak
- If you go to the Peak of Mother's Hill, you can see Doug thinking about his wife, who passed away. Ann will be at the Inn working hard to cover for her dad.
Chicken Care:
- When: Fall 14 - 16
- Where: Your Farm
- If you have upgraded your Chicken Coop, but you still have only 5 chickens, Rick will come by and ask if you can care for five more. Never turn down a friend in need. If you help him, your friendship will improve, you'll get a bunch of Chicken Feed, and you can sell the Eggs his Chickens lay while they are in your care.
Tea Party:
- When: Spring, 03:00 PM - 04:00 PM
- Where: Harvest Sprites' Home
- The Harvest Sprites hold a Tea Party every day in the Spring. You may attend if you bring gifts for each of the seven Harvest Sprites. In return, they will give you some Relax Tea Leaves which are worth 1,000 G. You must have an Upgraded Rucksack so you can take the seven gifts to them in one trip. The Tea Party can take place only on days when all of the seven Harvest Sprites are at home.
Disagreeable Friends:
- When: Summer, Tuesday / Sunday, 10:00 AM - 07:00 PM
- Where: Poultry Farm
- If you are walking past or visiting the Poultry Farm, you may witness a minor disagreement between Kai, Popuri, and Rick. Kai has an unsettling effect on Rick, and Rick isn't shy about showing his feelings.
Sunny Morning Nap:
- When: Summer, Sunny
- Where: Halfway up Mother's Hill
- If you are married to Ann, and it is a sunny morning, you will spot her taking a nap halfway up Mother's Hill.
Perfume:
- When: Summer, After a Hurricane
- Where: Beach
- The day before a Hurricane, go to the Beach and go fishing. You should fish up a bottle. The day after the Hurricane, go to Kai and give him the bottle. He will ask if you plan on staying or leaving. Say that you plan on staying and he will give you some perfume.
Stu's Cricket:
- When: Fall
- Where: Your Farm
- If you are married to Elli, Stu will stop by and give you a Cricket.
White Flower:
- When: Winter, snowy
- Where: Mother's Hill
- Visit Ellen in her home, she will tell you about a legendary White Flower that blooms on snowy days. She says it's good luck to see it. Visit the peak of Mother's Hill on a snowy day to see for yourself, then tell Ellen and Basil about it the next day.
Thoughts of Family:
- When: Winter, snowy, after 10:00 AM
- Where: Rose Square
- Arrive at the Rose Square after 10:00 AM on a snowy day, you will see Cliff collapse. Talk to him and you will pick up the photograph Cliff was looking at. When Cliff is taken to the hospital, the Doctor will care for him and ask everyone else to leave. The next time you see Cliff, be sure to return the photo back to him.
The New Puppy:
- When: Spring or Summer, 06:00 AM - 01:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- If you are friends with Barley, and your Dog loves you a lot, one day Barley may stop by your farm and ask if he can borrow your Dog for a little while. His Dog Hana is lonely, and Barley would like your Dog to keep her company. Let Barley borrow your Dog and before long, Puppies will be born. Because Barley and May can't take care of both Puppies, Barley will ask you to find one a new home. When you speak to either Stu or Harris, he will ask you if he can have the Puppy.
Flowers Blooming:
- When: Spring, Summer, or Fall, 12:00 PM - 03:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- If you have more then 90 Flowers Blooming on your farm, Anna comes to ask if she may pick some. Tell her to take as many as she would like and she will give you a Power Berry.
Honey Bees:
- When: Spring, Summer, or Fall, 06:00 AM - 12:00 PM
- Where: Your Farm
- If you have Flowers on your farm, Bees will make a hive in the Apple Tree, and then you can get Honey every day. If you give a jar of Honey to Louis, its selling price will go up from 50 G to 60 G.
Kappa:
- When: Spring, Summer, or Fall, 11:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- Where: Mother's Hill Lake
- Throw three Cucumbers into the lake at the base of Mother's Hill, Kappa will give you a Mystic Berry. You must stand in front of the two trees on the left side of the lake to make this happen. Possessing the Mystic Berry slows your accumulation of Fatigue by 50 percent. When you eat it, it reduces your Fatigue by 1 point.
Fishing Pole:
- When: Spring, Summer, or Fall
- Where: Your Farm
- If you got the Fishing Rod from Greg in the spring, stock your Fish Pond. Once you have 50 or more Fish in your pond, Greg will stop by and give you a better Fishing Pole.
The Goddess:
- When: any sunny day, 06:00 AM - 09:00 PM
- Where: Goddess Pond
- Throw items into the pond which you have harvested from your farm, the Goddess will show her face and thank you. Stand behind the waterfall to throw the items in. Don't throw in an item on Festival days, bad weather days, or at night. The Goddess is picky about when she wants to accept your gifts. After you give her five items, she will give you a Power Berry. After you give her five more items, she will ask if there is someone special in your life and answer Yes. When you leave the Hot Springs, you will run into the girl who has the highest affection for you. For another 10 items, the Goddess will give you a piece of Lumber. If you give it to Gotz, he will pay you handsomely for it and you will become better friends.
The Big Tree:
- When: after 11:00 AM
- Where: Halfway Up Mother's Hill
- A big tree stands in the clearing halfway up Mother's Hill. If you start to chop it down, the tree will ask you not to. If you relent, the tree will give you a Power Berry. If you try to cut it down another time, Gotz will be mad at you, and you will pass out and wake up at the Clinic. This will happen each time you try to cut it down.
