Story
The game story line is based on Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. The same characters from BtN will appear in the new FoMT game, along with some new characters that will make their way into the game via the Gamecube Link Cable and aWL.
In FoMT you can court each of the 5 girls that are available to marry. You'll find Ann, Mary, Karen, Popuri, and Elli along with your "rivals" Kai, Cliff, Doctor, Rick, and Gray. There is also a bonus girl in Mineral Town for you to marry. If you meet specific requirements you can propose to the Harvest Goddess and request her to be your wife. You can also attend yearly events like the Chicken Sumo festival and Cooking Festival, but there is a new Summer festival which judges your dog's abilities to catch a frisbee disc. Along with the new frisbee game there are mini games you can play with the Harvest Sprites and a ton of new interactive villager events. But Barley's dog, Hanna, cannot get puppies in FoMT.

Game Controls
- Start: Brings up your menu window at the bottom of the screen.
- Select: Bring up your Ranch summary.
- Directional Pad: Walk up, down, left, or right. To navigate through the menus as well; left and right will switch screens while up and down will scroll through large text.
- R button: Holding it down makes you run.
- L button: Whistle for your dog and horse, also whistle at the girls.
- A button: Pick up things, talk to villagers and to confirm selections.
- B button: Use the tool you currently have equipped and exit out of menus.
- A button + B button: Shortcut to opens up your Rucksack.
- L button + B button: Rotate through the tools you have in your Rucksack or by holding down L button and using Left and Right on the directional pad. If you are holding an edible item, it will make you eat it.
- L button + A button: Rotate through the items you have in your Rucksack or by holding down R button and using Left and Right on the directional pad.
- L button + Select: Shortcut to open Farm map.
- L button + Start: Shortcut to opens World map.
Menu
The menu window will appear at the bottom of your screen when you press the Start button. There are 7 menu options you can choose:
- Diary: You can save (2 slot and save any time) and load a previously saved game. There's also option for autorun; #1 set walk to the Directional pad and run to the R button, #2 sets walk to the R button and run to the Directional pad. The last 3 options turns the time display on and off, the character portraits on and off, and the character display names on or off.
- Rucksack: To view and switch item in your rucksack. The tools will be displayed on the left and the items on the right.
- World Map: To view the world and you can move the cursor around to get a some information about specific areas.
- Farm Map: To view your farm. In here you will each animal and plant is marked with a little icon so you can easily find what you're looking for.
- Earnings: You'll see how much money you've earned, the skill levels of the Harvest Sprites, information about your animals, and tool level ups. You can use Select for shortcut.
- Memo: Anything you're able to ship is listed here. You can see how many of each crop you have shipped, kinds of fish you've been able to catch, the farthest levels you've reached in the mines, best score for the Harvest Sprite mini games, the farthest you've tossed the frisbee in the Frisbee Disc mini game. You can also see how much money you've saved and spent per day and per season.
- Tutorial: The Tutorial is about how to grow plants, taking care of animals (cows, chickens, and sheep), and explains the menu windows. These are the same Tutorials that Mayor Thomas shows you when you first start the game.

House
In FoMT you no longer just have a single farmhouse, you can actually have four houses.
- Farm House: This is the first house you'll own, inherited when you took over the farm. The house is very small but you can have Gotz build on two expansions and a bathroom. The rest of the furnishings can be purchased from the TV Shopping show.
- Town Cottage: It will cost you 999 pieces of wood and 100,000,000 G.
- Seaside Cottage: The connectivity between FoMT and A Wonderful Life for Gamecube will bring this little place. The house will be built down on the southern half of Mineral Beach.
- Mountain Cottage: Once you reach your 50th anniversary, your wife decides it's time for her to give you the ultimate gift.
TV Listings
There is an error in the translation for the New Years game show. One of the symbols that appear in the equation displays as a > (greater than) symbol. It is suppose to be a x (multiply) symbol. If you multiply every time you see a > then you'll get the correct answer.

- Bottom channel: "Life On the Farm" about farming tips, at night it will change into a more basic format

- Saturday: TV Shopping or St.Emerald Academy. If there is nothing available on TV Shopping the other show will appear instead.
TV Shopping
The TV Shopping air every Saturday, each week the hostess will show you item you can buy for your house. If you find what you want to buy, go to Doug's Inn and use the telephone (10 G per call) to call the TV Shopping. 2 days after you place your order, Zack will stop by to deliver the new item that you've purchased. The item is automatically placed into it's correct spot inside your house.

When you own the Town Cottage, there's also a TV in there. The channel inside it will be a little different than in your Farmhouse.

- Right channel: Harvest Theater and air 2 different shows. At Spring 01 to Summer 07 and Fall 01 to Winter 07 you'll watch Mechabot Ultror: Summertime. At Summer 09 to Summer 30 and Winter 09 to Winter 30 you'll get to see another rendition of Fairy And Me.
- Bottom channel: Race results for the F3.14 MGP Race

- Friday: Mechabot Ultror Zero. A falling meteorite brings a new enemy to the Mechabot team.
- Saturday: Rock-Paper-Scissors Show. Play to win prizes from the Harvest Goddess. This game is bugged. The selections for Paper and Scissors are reversed; if you choose Paper then you answer will be Scissors, and visa versa.
Your Stamina is split into two parts: your Strength (or Energy) and your Fatigue. The Strength starts out at a high value and decreases to zero, while your Fatigue starts at zero and works upwards. The Stamina is based on points, you'll start your game with 150 points of Strength and 100 points of Fatigue. You can increase your Strength by finding the Power Berries that are hidden in the game. Each berry will add 10 points to your total Strength. The only berry that will help your Fatigue is the special Blue Berry you can receive from Kappa. The Blue Berry will allow you to work in the rain without the weather affecting your Fatigue points.
To immediately recharge your Stamina, you can eat food. To help keep your Stamina, you can use the items you have inside your house. Going to bed, putting flower in the Flower Vase (Moon Drop or Blue Magic Grass for Strength and Pink Cat, Red Magic Grass, or Toy Flower for Fatigue), put piece of wood in the Fireplace (winter only, other season will have opposite effect).

Power Berries
There are 10 berries that you can find in various locations.
- In your field: Just dig around your field.
- Harvest Goddess: Give offering to Harvest Goddess for 10 days and she'll reward you with a berry.
- Turn in medals: Exchange 900 medals to get the Power Berry.
- Win the Horse Race: Come into first place you'll win the Power Berry.
- Frisbee disc winner: Come into first place you'll win the Power Berry.
- Fishing at pier: Go fishing with level 5 (mithril) Fishing Pole at Mineral Beach in the Winter.
- Dig down into the mine: Go down to floor 100 at Spring Mine and dig around for Power Berry.
- TV Shopping: Once you've purchased most of the items, they might sell a Power Berry for 10,000 G.
- Behind the Winter Mine: When Winter walk behind the island and press the A button you'll find a hidden Power Berry.
- Dig in the Winter Mine: Go down to floor 19 at Winter Mine and dig around for Power Berry.
Special Berry. This berry is help your fatigue didn't affected by weather and you can earn it from Kappa. Throw a Cucumber into the lake and he'll pop out for a second, then return back into the water. Throw in a Cucumber again for a total 10 days. On the 10th day he'll give you the Special Berry in hopes that you'll leave him alone.
Jewels
There are three different kinds of Jewels to collect; Goddess, Kappa, and Truth. After you collect 9 of each kind, they'll combine into the full Gems. The Kappa and Goddess Gems are handy because they'll regain all of your strength and fatigue. The Truth Gem display the point values of your strength and fatigue. The Gems also only regain their values if you're outside where time can move. The Truth jewels will only appear after you have obtained the Cabinet. The Goddess and Kappa jewels can be found hidden inside of rocks in the mines.

Tools
When you first start farming you are given 5 tools to use: Hammer, Hoe, Sickle, Ax, and Watering Can. The Fishing Pole you receive it from Zack. Each tool has an upgrade-meter that will increase with usage. When the meter reaches 100%, the tool can be upgraded to it's next level of power.
When the tool is ready to upgrade, you will need to have the appropriate Ore and talk to Saibara. He will upgrade your tools to the next level for a small fee. Once you have had your tools upgraded to level 5, the level 6 "cursed" tools will appear in the Winter Mine. The cursed tools don't replace your existing tools, but Cursed tools cannot be removed once they are equipped. You'll have to go to the Church and have Carter blessing the tool to unequip it. To used the Cursed tool fully, you can work on getting the cursed tools permanently "blessed" to remove it's disadvantage.
When your Cursed tools have all been transformed into blessed tools, the Mythic Stones will appear in the Spring Mine to upgrade your level 6 tools to the last level 7 tools. After your tool has been upgraded, you can use it's extra strength by holding down the B button when using the tool. The longer you hold down the B button, the higher the tool's power level will be.

Makers
The Makers will allow you to convert your poultry and livestock produce into higher profit items. Before you can get the Makers, you'll need to have Gotz upgrade your Chicken Coop and Animal Barns. After the building finished, the Makers will available for sale in Blacksmith.
If you have the Harvest Sprites taking care of your animals they just harvest and ship the normal produce. If you want to ship the upgraded items, hurry to the barn in the morning before the Sprites reach the front door. You can then harvest, use the Makers, and ship before the Sprites get a hold of your animals.

There some requirement before you get the last crop for each season. Strawberry need ship 100 Turnips, Potatoes, and Cucumbers. Pumpkin need ship 100 Tomatoes, Corn, and Onions. Spinach need ship 100 Eggplants, Carrots, and Sweet Potatoes. Also the only profitable Magic Grass is the Red Magic Grass that can be sold for 200 G.

Dog Frisbee Game
To start, press A in front of the sign next to the bench. On the left-side of your screen is a power bar and the green area represents how far you can throw your frisbee. There will also be an arrow-shaped power gauge that scrolls up the power bar, if you press the A button when the power gauge is inside of the green area, you'll throw your frisbee and your dog will chase after it.
When you first start playing with your dog, the green area on the power bar is very small. You will only be able to throw the disk 10 meter or so and only be able to play about 3 times before your dog gets tired. The more successful catches you guys have, the more green area you'll gain and also be able to play with you more before it get tired. Your longest catch will display on the screen in the upper right corner.
After you start getting 30 meter or more, sometimes he'll be running after your frisbee and then suddenly stop. Your dog senses something hidden in the sand and will dig to see if he can find it. Often he won't actually find anything at all, but occasionally he'll find an item hidden underground. Your dog might find an Agate, Gold Ore, Silver Ore, Copper Ore, some rubbish, or a Ancient Fossil.

There are six grades of items that your animals can produce, each dependent on the animal's friendship level and if it's won any contests.

To start fishing you need to get the Fishing Rod, getting it from Zack. There are 5 locations you can fish from: The Lake on Mother's Hill, Upstream next to the lake and fishing only from the bridge, Goddess Pond, Downstream on south of your farm down past Poultry and Yodel, Mineral Beach. On the first release of the Japanese game, there was a glitch where small fish sold for 200 G a piece.

There are two different mines you can dig in, the Spring Mine next to the Goddess' Pond and the Winter Mine on an island in the lake on Mother's Hill, which each mine is 255 floors deep. The Lake Mine is only normally accessible during the winter when the lake's water freezes so you can walk to the island and if you have the Teleport Stone you can go there in any season.

Spring 01: New Years Festival
To celebrate the new year the villagers get together to pound Rice Cakes. You don't actually get to watch the villagers smash the rice, but you do get a sample of it to take home. You just don't get one though, any empty slot in your backpack gets filled. -
Spring 14: Spring Thanksgiving
Today is the day you remember the girls' gifts from Thanksgiving last Winter. Make a few batches of Cookies and hand them out to the girls. When you give Cookies to the girls, their love levels will raise up just a little bit, but the Goddess is the only girl that won't appreciate you throwing cookies at her. -
Spring 18: Spring Horse Race
One day before Mayor will come ask you if you want to participate. Your Horse fully mature in 1 year so you could participate starting Year 2. There are 3 races that run and if you participate you'll run in the third race. When you win for the first time you are rewarded with a Power Berry. You can bet at every race with each bet costs 50 G. If you win you receive medals, which you can convert into prizes. When you go to bet on a winning horse, the odds that the horse will win appear along the right side of the screen. The smaller the odd, the better chance the horse will win. The number of medals you win is multiplied by the number of bets times the odds. Spring 22: Cooking Festival
Go to Rose Plaza and the Gourmet will be there and tell you what kind of food is being judged that day. Leave the plaza and you will return back to your farm house. Make the food you are required to bring and then return back to the festival. Give the food you made to Mayor Thomas, then the Gourmet will start the judging. If you win the competition you don't actually receive a prize, but you do get a lot of happy cheers. Each year the Cooking Festival category will change. Year 1 is Juices, Year 2 is Sweets, Year 3 is Bread, Year 4 is Noodles, Year 5 is Rice. After you pass Year 5, the cooking categories will be randomly set. -
Summer 01: Beach Day
In the celebration for the opening of the beach, there'll be Frisbee Contest for your dog. One day before Zack will come and ask if you want to participate. Next day at Mineral Beach talk to Zack from behind the counter to start the Frisbee Contest. Keep it in mind you only have 2 chances to get a good score. If you win for the first time you'll receive a Power Berry. -
Summer 07: Chicken Festival
One day before Rick will come and ask if you want to participate. There are 3 rounds of chicken sumo you have to go through. Each chicken-combatant is a little tougher to scare then the previous one. When you win all 3 matches your chicken is blessed with the ability to lay golden eggs once it has a love level of 10 hearts. -
Summer 20: Cow Festival
One day before Barley will will come and ask if you want to participate. Next day go to Rose Plaza and talk to Barley to start the judging. If your Cow win, it will start to produce Gold or P-Type Milk. -
Summer 24: Fireworks
At 06:00 PM head to the beach to watch the firework display. Talking with everyone on the beach will start the fireworks. When it's all over you'll reappear back in your farm house and it will be the next morning. When you have a girl that has a green-colored heart, talk to her and she'll ask if you want to watch the fireworks with her. If you agree then the two of you will stand on the dock to watch the festivities. -
Fall 03: Music Festival
One day before Carter will come and ask if you want to participate. If you agree meet him at the entrance of the Church at 06:00 PM next day. To start the music talk Carter again. You will be playing the Orcana, Elli and Ann have Recorders, Mary plays the Organ, and Karen is singing. There's a cute little song that plays and then the festival is over. -
Fall 09: Harvest Festival
One day before Mayor will come and remind you about tomorrow festival to bring edible food to be added into the soup. Next day give the item to Mayor and then you all get to sit back and eat your community soup. -
Fall 13: Festival at Mother's Hill
Between 06:00 PM and midnight, go to Mother's Hill summit. The girl with the highest love level with you will be there waiting for you. Agree to watch the moon rise with her and you'll increase her heart level a little bit more. -
Fall 18: Fall Horse Race
Same as Spring Horse Race. -
Fall 21: Sheep Festival
One day before Barley will come and ask if you want to participate. If you're going to enter, make sure your Sheep has all of it's wool. Next day go to Rose Plaza. Talk to Barley to start the judging. If your Sheep win, it will start to produce Gold or P-Type Wool. -
Fall 30: Pumpkin Festival
In the morning one of the kids will come by and let you know it's Pumpkin Festival, then stand there until you give them some candy. You will have 3 candy-visitors that day, May comes at 06:00 AM, Stu at 08:00 AM, and Popuri at 10:00 AM. If you've allowed Popuri to get married to Kai, then she'll move out of Mineral Town and won't be around for Pumpkin Festival. -
Winter 14: Valentine's Day
If any of the girls' hearts are purple, you'll receive a visit from them on Thanksgiving and give you gift-wrapped chocolates. Popuri at 06:00 AM, Ann at 08:00 AM, Elli at 10:00 AM, Karen at noon, and Mary at 02:00 PM. -
Winter 24: Starry Festival
One day before talk to one of the girls who has a green heart or higher. She'll invite you to spend the Starry Night Festival with her family. If you agree, meet at her house after 06:00 pm tomorrow to have a nice dinner. -
Winter 25: Stocking Festival
Go to bed between 09:00 PM and midnight. Mayor will act as "Santa Claus" and sneak in your place to leave a present. He'll only leave a gift if you have socks hanging up on your coat hanger. The next morning you can check your stocking and see what you received. To get a pair of socks you'll need to become good friends with Ellen. During Winter 01 - 23 between 09:00 AM and 11:00 AM, give a ball of Yarn to her. She'll knit you a sock you can use for the Stocking Festival. -
Winter 30: New Year
There are two different events you can attend, but you can only go to one of them. The first one is a New Years Feast gathering at Rose Plaza. Talk to Mayor to start the event. You'll be fed some New Years Tempura. At the end of the meal the Mayor will fill the empty slots of your backpack full of New Year Soba Noodles. The other event is on the Mother's Hill summit. Around midnight go to summit to watch the sun rise on the first day of the new year. Talk to Doug to start the event. You don't receive any gifts from attending this event.

Won's Home Delivery
On Year 1 Spring 03, Won will arrive in Mineral Town. He will greet you, informs that he likes this town and he's decided to set up shop in Zack's house. After that, every so often he'll still visit you when you leave your house. He'll sell you "special" Apples or maybe a Flower Vase for your home. Each apple costs 500 G each and he'll only let you buy 1 per visit. You can't buy the apples by visiting his shop in Zack's house. You have to wait for Won to greet you at the door. The Apples may be a waste of money, but they're included in the Ship Items List that you'll need to complete in order to marry the Goddess. -
Popuri's Mail Order
On Spring 10-17, go to Zack's House. Popuri order a birthday gift for her mother. She will ask Zack and you to keep it secret from her mom. If you agree not to tell Lillia, you raise your friendship with Popuri. -
Kai Arrives
Only happen in Year 1. On Spring 30 between 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM head out your Farm north exit. May and Popuri talking to Kai. Talk to Kai and he'll introduce himself and says he runs the Shack that sits on the beach. Then he heads back to his place. -
Ann's Mom's Memorial
On Fall 05 got to Doug's Inn. Ann nervously welcomes you and says they'll be closing at 05:00 PM, says her dad decided to take the day off. Go to Mother's Hill summit and you will see Doug is there, saying today is the anniversary day of Ann's mother's death. Doug will stay up there until 05:00 PM. -
Fall Wine Harvest
On Fall 14, Duke will come and ask if you could help them harvest the winery's grapes. If you agree he'll ask you to come by at 10:00 AM tomorrow and suggest that you find a partner to help you harvest. You could come alone or ask Cliff if he would like to help. Next day go to Aja Winery and start helping. At the end of the day Duke will thank you and Manna will feed you some Wine and Cheese. Duke is so impressed with your Cliff's work that he offers him a permanent job. Cliff thanks you for inviting him to the winery. Now instead of hanging out alone in the Church, you'll find Cliff downstairs in the Wine Cellar. -
Manna Shopping Spree
Event occur after Fall Wine Harvest event and not asked Cliff for help. On rainy Thursday or Friday between 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to General Store. Manna doing a little shopping and little chatting with Sasha. She asks Jeff for some Rice Balls and Curry Powder, then begins to smother him with compliments. Jeff is so giddy that he decides to charge her half price for her items. -
Thomas Winter Request
On Winter 02, Mayor will come and ask you a request. He needs an item and ask you to keep a hold of it until 07:00 PM. He will ask for various winter-type items like White Grass, Diamonds, Truffles, and Moonstones. If you don't like what he's asking for, reload your game and when you talk to him again he'll ask for a different item. At 07:00 PM Mayor will come back for the item, give it to him and he'll give you a piece of Golden Lumber. Mayor won't come to your front door if there's a storm or it's snowing. -
Father's Present
On Winter 11 between 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM go to Doug's Inn. Enter the backroom you'll find Doug is working then Ann will walk in saying she wants to give him something. She'll hand Doug a present and he doesn't understand why she's giving him a gift. Ann shouts at him because Doug has apparently forgotten that today is his birthday. He thanks Ann for her gift and she leaves to go back to work in the front. -
Cliff Faints
On Year 1 snowy day and have nothing in the items section of your rucksack, go to Rose Plaza from the entrance near Yodel Ranch. Cliff walking around, suddenly he doesn't look very good and passes out. Next to him you find a photograph and Cliff says he was remembering when he left his past home. You'll run to the Inn to look for some help. Ann welcomes you, but becomes concerned when you tell her about Cliff in Rose Plaza. She calls for her dad and they take him to the clinic. At clinic Doctor says that Cliff will be fine. Ann thanks you for finding him and the Doctor says you all should go so he can rest. Outside the Clinic you realize you still have the photograph that Cliff dropped when he fainted. If you go back inside and give it to him, Cliff will wake up for a brief moment. He says that the people in the photo is his mom and his sister, telling about his family, then he goes back to sleep. If you exhaust yourself when Cliff is staying at the Clinic, Doctor kicks Cliff out of the Clinic's bed and puts him in the lobby to make room for you. Cliff is still weak from his ordeal and passes out again in the lobby. Elli will notice he's laying down and drag him off the screen. -

The White Flower
On Year 5 Summer between 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Ellen's House. Ellen telling Basil about a rare plant. Ellen explains when she was young, she heard someone talking about the White Flower that only blooms on a Summer night and no one alive anymore who has seen it. Basil is intrigued and asks you find the White Flower and bring it to Ellen. Basil then goes back to his house to do some research about the White Flower. Between 09:00 PM to midnight go to the Mother's Hill summit. You'll find the White Flower blooming on the rocks. When you pick it, you're automatically transported back to Ellen's house. Basil is quite surprised to see the White Flower, it's very lovely so you give it to Ellen as a gift. -
Shooting Star
On good weather Year 5 Fall 10 after 06:00 PM go to Mother's Hill summit. You'll see some shooting stars then you are presented with three things you can wish for. Any sick animal you have will become healthy again, become better friends with all of the Mineral Town villagers, anything you ship the following day will net you double the profit. This event repeat every 5 year. -
Free Fishing Pole
Between 11:00 AM to 05:00 PM go to Zack's House. He'll tell you that a friend left behind a Fishing Pole and Zack doesn't need it. Instead of throwing it away he'll give it to you to use. Make sure you have an empty slot available in the Tools section to trigger this event. -
Sprite Tea Party
If befriend with the Harvest Sprites you may receive an invitation in your mailbox to join their Springtime Tea Party. Take the invitation with you when you go visit the Sprite's hut and then give it to any one of them. They'll then start the Tea Party and give you Relax Tea Leaves as a memento. -
A Botanist's temper
On Spring go to Basil's House and walk up to 2nd floor. He'll ask your advise on a mistake he's made. -
Free Horse
During your first or second season, Barley will greet you and ask you to take care a foal for him. If you agree he'll take the foal and put it in your Horse Stable. The horse will take a full year to grow up and Barley will come back to check up the Horse. If your Horse doesn't have at least 5 hearts, he'll take it away from you. He'll give it back to you a year later as a mature Horse, but it won't have any hearts at all. If your Horse have 5 hearts or more, he'll let you have it for free. -

On Summer go to the Poultry Farm. You'll come across Lillia and says the store had to be closed today because she's not feeling very well. Rick and Popuri rushing to get medicine for Lillia and ended up having a lot of medicine. -

Snack Shack Business
Between 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM go to Snack Shack. Kai will welcome and start talking about the lack of customers. Then Popuri walks in and says she's brought him some customers. Seeing a lot of them coming, Kai asks if you would be able to help him out and you automatically agree. Afterwards Kai is exhausted, asks Popuri why she has to bring so many customers. Popuri apologizes and says she thought all the customers would make him happy, then Kai thanks you for your help. -
Locked Church door
On Fall Wednesday evening go to Church. You'll notice that the back door is unlocked. Go through the door and you'll find Carter, who didn't realize he left the door unlocked. He's quite fond of the Mushrooms that grow behind the Church and he's been keeping them for himself. If you promise not to tell anyone he'll keep the door unlocked and allow you to go through the Church door to collect Mushrooms. Behind the Church you'll find a Mushroom, a Poison Mushroom, and two Truffles. During the Winter you'll find a piece of White Grass. -
4:44 Game Lockup
In Japanese culture, number 4 is considered bad luck. So in Japanese version if you watch TV at 4:44, the channel will display nothing but "4 hour 44 minutes" over and over again. After about 10 seconds it will stop automatically and you can continue playing. The event also in English version too, but it's not converted correctly. You can watch the TV at 4:44, but instead of "4:44 4:44" flashing over the screen, your game will throw itself into a loop of opening and closing the dialog box. The only way to get out of it is to turn off your Game Boy and start from where you last saved. -

Family Memories

You can fishing in the lake, or even take the time to heal your Cursed Axe or Fishing Pole while you're there. When you leave the map, time will continue on as normal. -

Drunken Battle

If Karen wins then Duke has to pay the large bill he has run up at Jeff's Store. If Duke wins then the bill will be erased. Karen asks if you would like to judge them. It doesn't matter what choice you pick since they're both going to drink themselves silly anyway. When it's all over, Duke is passed out and Karen declares herself the winner. Doug will asks you to take Duke home. Manna angry to see this and both of them start arguing again. -

If you tell him to write what he feels, he'll thank you and says he'll take a chance telling her about how he feels. After some time, you might meet up with Harris again outside your farmhouse door. He says he took your advice and wrote to Aja, but when she wrote back he found out that she already has a boyfriend. Harris tells you not to apologize, but thanks you for suggesting he write to her. If he hadn't sent the letter, he would of never known she already has a boyfriend. Now he's happy for her and knows he can give up on his crush. -

Animal Funeral
If one of your animals die, you will see this scene. You and Rick (if it's a Chicken) or Barley (if it's a Cow or Sheep), sometimes with both of them, pay your last respects to your dead animal while Carter gives an eulogy. All the animals have a life expectancy time so you may see a few of these funerals. Chickens start dying after 3 years and Cows and Sheep start dying after 5 years. You can kind of "cheat" death by reload your saved game from the previous night, when you wake up again there's a chance that your animal won't die. -
Bad Weather Storms
During the Summer and Winter season, Hurricane or Snowstorm will blow in from the coast. When the storm blows in you can't leave your Farmhouse, you can't even watch anything on TV. The only thing you can do is go back to bed. When the Storm is over the next morning it will leave a mess of debris in your crop field. -
Catch all the fish
After you catch all of the fish that are available, the Goddess will appear and congratulate you. The next morning Zack will appear at your farm door to also praise your fishing skills. -
Fishing for Kappa
When fishing on Mother's Hill lake, you might catch Kappa. When you catch him the screen will flash and he'll appear. Kappa will dance around on top of the water and then return back to his underwater home. -
Golden Lumber Showoff
If you receive a Golden Lumber, be careful not to put it outside in your farmyard. The villager aren't happy with a farmer that likes to show off his wealth. Each morning they'll come by and scold you. If that's not enough, all day they will call you a rich rascal instead of using your name. Until you remove the Golden Lumber out of your farm yard, they will come every day and yell at you. -
Gotz's Bad Mood
One day when you go to visit Gotz, you'll find him in a bad mood. He's tired of working on your farm and doesn't feel like doing any more work. In order to have Gotz begin to build on your farm again, you have to raise your friendship with him. When he feels better he will start taking requests again. You'll see a cut-scene of him letting you know he's ready to take in more work.

- Blue heart: On Monday or Friday between noon to 07:00 PM go to Doug's Inn. Ann complaining about stomach pains and you and Doug take her to the Clinic. Her stomach ache caused by her eating too much. Back at the Inn Ann says she's sorry for making a fuss. To thank you she gives you her favorite broken music box.
- Yellow heart: On Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday between 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM go to Doug's Inn. Doug will asks if you "like" his daughter. Choose you do (option 1) and he'll be happy. Ann caught Doug talk about her to you and gets mad at Doug.
Elli
- Black heart: On a Monday or Wednesday after 09:00 AM go to Clinic. Stu is showing a bug to Elli and she's very irritated because she hate bugs. After you walk in, Stu flee and hides behind you. Choose Not really, Stu is upset, but it makes Elli happy.
- Purple heart: On Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday between 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM go to Clinic. Jeff is sick and Doctor ask Elli to bring medicine but she got it wrong. Doctor comfort both Elli and Jeff. Choose she's a good nurse and you make her happy.
- Blue heart: On Wednesday between 09:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Ellen's House. Elli made some food but Stu ran out, saying didn't want to eat. Ellen thinks he went to Church. Choose you'll go look for him and she'll thank you. Head to Church and meet up with Stu outside. The two of you return and Stu apologizes to his grandma and sister. To thank you Elli gives you a Pressed Flower.
- Yellow heart: On Wednesday between 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM go to Mineral Beach. Elli standing on the dock thinking about her family and ask if she a raising Stu like her mother. Choose not to worry about it (option 2).
Karen
- Black heart: On Wednesday or Friday between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to General Store. Also have an empty slot in the Tools section of your rucksack. Karen give you a bag of Grass Seeds for free.
- Purple heart: Between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to General Store. Karen and Sasha having a disagreement what seeds they need to send to their family. Choose agree with Karen to increase her heart level.
- Blue heart: Between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to General Store. Jeff, Sasha, Karen, and Duke talking about Wine they make to celebrate Karen born. Choose you agree to pick up, you, Karen, and Duke head back to Aja Winery cellar. Duke give them 3 bottle labeled "Karen". Back at General Store, Karen says tired but thank you for your help and she gives you a bottle of her new Wine.
- Yellow heart: On Monday, Thursday, or Saturday between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to General Store. Karen is cooking (you know how bad her cooking is) with Jeff and Sasha looking worried. When Karen see you walk in, Jeff then volunteers you to taste Karen's cooking. If you agree then you'll follow Karen back into the kitchen. When you take the food and eat it, you pass out because it's so bad. You'll wake up in the Clinic. When Doctor ask why you pass out, Karen honestly doesn't realize her food is the cause.
Mary
- Black heart: Between 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM go to Library. Mary is lost in thought and runs into you when walking. Realizes that it's you, she thanks you for coming to the Library and explains that she's been working on a new book and had a small case of writer's block.
- Purple heart: On Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday between 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM go to Library. Mary is busy searching in the bookcases not realize your presence. Mary search one of the novels that gone missing and can't seem to find it anywhere. Agree to help her look and you'll start searching the bookcases. After a while you find the missing novel. Mary's grateful your help and thanks you for finding the missing book.
- Blue heart: On Monday between noon and 05:00 PM go to Mother's Hill summit. Also have an empty slot in your rucksack. Mary is reading a book and crying because it's a good book. Choose "sometimes", she'll tell you she likes people who respond well to books. Mary then gives you the book she had been reading.
- Yellow heart: On Monday between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Basil's House. Basil and Anna worried about Mary bad mood and sent you upstairs to ask her. Mary guesses that her Dad sent you to talk to her. Mary explain that she need some idea for her novel. Choose working on the farm and Mary asks if you would spend some time explaining how farm life is.
Popuri
- Black heart: On Wednesday or Friday between 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM walk from your farm north exit. You'll come across a fleeing Chicken and you catch it. Popuri come and thank you for catching her Chicken and then asks if you like Chickens. If you do, then Popuri says that people who like Chickens are good people.
- Purple heart: Popuri will stop by your farm one morning, interested taking a tour of your farm. Choose yes and the two of you will explore the farm.
- Blue heart: Event doesn't occur during Summer. On Sunday between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Church. Also own the Large Rucksack. Carter and Popuri watch Stu and May play. When you walk in Carter asks if you willing to play with the kids instead of him. Choose agree and the 4 of you go to Hot Spring to play "house".
- Yellow heart: Event doesn't occur during Summer. Between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Poultry Farm. Popuri and Rick having argument about their Dad. Lillia notices you walking in and apologizes for their bickering. Choose "poor Lillia" and they'll both realize how silly they've been and apologize to their mother.
Cliff & Ann
- Black heart: Event doesn't occur during Summer and available again when Fall. On Spring night go to Doug's Inn 2nd floor. Ann went to talk to Cliff.
- Blue heart: Event doesn't occur during Fall. Between 11:00 AM to 04:00 PM go to Church. Carter talking with Cliff, then Ann walks in delivering Carter's lunch. Carter asks Ann if she would be nice enough to introduce Cliff to some residents of Mineral Town. Ann gladly agrees to take Cliff around town later.
- Green heart: On Year 2 Saturday between 11:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Doug's Inn. Doug and Ann talking about how long Cliff will stay in Mineral Town. Then Cliff walks in and asks what they're talking about. Doug doesn't answer but Ann asks how long Cliff is planning on staying in and tells that he can stay at the Inn forever if he wanted to. Cliff thanks their generosity and asks if they're sure about the offer. Both Ann and Doug are very sure.
- Orange heart: On year 4 between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Aja Winery storehouse. Ann bringing lunch for Cliff. Duke laughs and makes a small comment on how they look like newlyweds. Ann is embarrassed and Cliff in shock. She naturally denies anything it and runs out. Duke doesn't see the problem with his comment then ask Cliff when he's going to propose to Ann. Cliff is still taken back by Duke's suggestion and doesn't know what to say.
Doctor & Elli
- Black heart: On Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday go to Clinic. Doctor remind Elli not to overwork herself. Elli was hoping that Doctor was more concerned about her than her role as the nurse but Doctor doesn't understand what he might of said to upset her.
- Blue heart: On Monday between 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM go to Ellen's House. Ellen isn't feeling very well so Elli and the Doctor stop by to visit. Doctor feels guilty for not being able to help Ellen with her legs, but Ellen and Elli tell him he does enough work. Doctor thanks their compliments and walks back to Clinic.
- Green heart: On Year 2 Thursday between 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM go to Clinic. Doctor got a little cough and Elli suggests that he take day off. Doctor is stubborn and says that don't want to take day off. Elli requests that he doesn't overdo his work, else she'll get mad at him. Doctor laughs and says that she would make a good wife someday.
- Orange heart: On sunny day Year 4 Wednesday between 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM go to Mineral Beach. Doctor is proposing Elli.
Gray & Mary
- Black heart: Between 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM go to Blacksmith. Mary comes and thanks Saibara for upgrading one of her tools. Then Gray hurt himself, Saibara scolds him for being careless. Gray is trying to act like nothing happen but Mary bandages Gray.
- Blue heart: Between 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Library. Gray looking at some books when Mary walks to him and thanks him for coming to Library. Mary asks Gray if he would like to read the novel that she's been writing and he says he'd love to.
- Green heart: On sunny day Year 2 between 07:00 AM to 10:00 AM go to Mother's Hill summit. Gray is telling Mary that the Novel that she has been writing is really great. Then Gray says that he can't seem to get better at being a blacksmith. Mary tells him that he's wrong because if he really loves being a blacksmith he'll eventually improve automatically.
- Orange heart: On Year 4 between 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Library. Gray says to Mary that he owes everything. Her talk with him on top of Mother's Hill helped him realize what was going wrong in his life. If they hadn't had that conversation, Gray says he might of just given up on being a blacksmith. Gray says that his grandpa is going to give him a test on his blacksmith skills. If he passes the test there's something he wants to ask Mary. He won't tell Mary what is is until after he passes his test.
Kai & Popuri
All event occur at Summer because Kai in Mineral Town just in Summer.
- Black heart: On sunny day between 03:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Mineral Beach. Popuri is getting some food that Kai's cooked. Then Popuri wonders if her mom would feel better if she ate some of Kai's interesting foods. Kai tells he'll make her mom some food.
- Blue heart: On sunny Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday between 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM go to Mineral Beach. Popuri thanks Kai for the food he cooked for her mom. Rick spots them and demand to know what Kai is doing with his sister and orders her to return to the store. Kai suggests that it might be a good time for Popuri to head back. Popuri apologizes for her obnoxious brother and the two siblings walk home.
- Green heart: On sunny day Year 2 Sunday between 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Mineral Beach. Popuri is trying to understand why her brother has a problem with her seeing Kai. Kai tries to convince her that it's because he's trying to protect her. Popuri then asks about Kai's family. Kai begins to complain about his parent and his journey. Popuri mentions that she would like the same thing but Kai is a bit skeptical and says her family is too nice for her to leave.
- Orange heart: On Year 4 between 11:30 AM to 04:00 PM go to Poultry Farm. Kai and Popuri plan on leaving the village and Rick asks Popuri if it's true. She says yes and Rick is mad and blames Kai. Popuri denies that and it was her idea. Then Lillia pops up and gives permission for Popuri to go but she has a condition before Popuri can go, Kai has to keep Popuri happy forever. Lillia says that Kai doesn't have to give her a reply right away. Kai says he'll consider it and then leaves.
Rick & Karen
- Black heart: On sunny Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday between 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM go to Hot Spring through Spring Mine. Rick is disappointed about his dad. Karen sticks up for Rick's dad and reminds Rick that he is out searching for a cure because he's trying to protect his family. Rick realizes she's right and the two of them have to take care of things while his dad is away.
- Blue heart: Event doesn't occur on Sprung. On sunny Sunday or Monday between 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM walk out from Gotz's House. Karen and Rick talking about the games they played when they child.
- Green heart: On sunny day Year 2 Wednesday or Friday between 11:00 AM to 06:00 PM go to Hot Spring through Spring Mine. Karen is angry at Rick because he fought off a dog that had attacked her and received an injury. Then Karen thanks Rick for helping her out
- Orange heart: Event occur Popuri need to be married. On Year 4 Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday between 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM go to Poultry Farm (go inside then outside). Karen and Rick talking to each other then Lillia walks up to them. Lillia asks when the two of them are going to get married. Rick freaks out, but Lillia says that they have always liked each other and there's no point in hiding it. Karen blushes and Lillia walks back to the house.
Marriage
You can choose to marry 6 different girls: Ann, Elli, Karen, Mary, Popuri or Harvest Goddess. Before you can get married you have some requirements you have to meet:
- Have Big House and Big Bed
- See all 4 Heart Events
- The girl at red heart
- Have Blue Feather
After you have completed all the requirement, give the girl you like the Blue Feather. If she accepts, the two of you will be married 7 days later. The wedding will take up the whole day at Church. The next morning you will be with your new wife in your Farmhouse. She will ask you what name you would like her to call you except the Goddess who will refuse anything and just call you by name. If you're married to Elli, Mary or Harvest Goddess, she'll tell you that she's going to continue to work. For Ann, Karen and Popuri you can choose if she should stay home or go to work. Your wife doesn't cook you meals, but she will cook on special occasions like your birthday and wedding anniversary. Most of the time she'll just walk around the table all day long and won't help you with any farm work. Some of the festivals change because of your marriage:
- Summer 24 - Fireworks: You don't need to talk to everyone on the Beach to start the fireworks. Just talk to your wife to start.
- Fall 13 - Festival at Mother's Hill: Don't expect to see your wife in this Festival. The girl with the highest affection would meet you even after you married.
- Winter 14 - Thanksgiving: When you go to bed that night your wife will get up and make you some Chocolate Cake and put it in your Rucksack.
- Winter 24 - Starry Night: Instead of going out with your wife's family, the two of you have a nice party at home.
- Wedding Anniversary: When your anniversary, your wife will be waiting for you in the morning. She asks if you know what today is, if you answer correctly, your wife will give you a gift.
Children
About a season after you two are married your wife won't feel well one morning. When you take her to the Clinic, Doctor says she's not sick but she's actually pregnant. Your wife will be quite happy about the new baby. Now you just have to wait 60 days until your wife gives birth. She'll go around her business like normal until the 60 days have gone by. On the morning of the birth, Doctor will come by and help with the delivery of your son. If you marry the Goddess she just tell you she's pregnant and leave the child to your care after she deliver it by herself.
Your wife will carry your baby around when she's home, but if she has to go to work then the baby ends up in the bed until she gets home. You can't talk to your son at this stage and you can't even give him gifts. If you marry the Goddess your child will be in bed all day unsupervised.
After 60 days your wife will wake you up in the morning. She says that when she woke up she found the child on the floor. Your baby is crying and looks like he might be hurt. Your wife will ask you what you two should do. You can reply that he'll be fine (your wife will mad at you) or if you think you should take him to the Clinic. When you all return home your kid now can crawl around. If you marry the Goddess she just use her magic to heal your kid. Since your kid starts crawling you can finally start to give him gifts to raise his heart levels. Your kid likes Cakes, Ice Cream, Honey, Yarn, Grapes, Milk recipes, and Noodles.
Whack A Mole
When you're digging around your farm there's a chance you could find something in the dirt. You could find little bags of money or even an animal called a Mole. The moles won't harm your crops and they'll disappear back under the ground after a few moments. Since the little rodents are harmless you could just leave them be, or you could whack them on the head. When you dig up a Mole in your field you have to quickly switch to your Hammer tool and smash it on the head. Each time you whack one of the moles, a tally appears in the Other screen of your Sales Summary.
New Year Game Show
During the first 5 days of the new year you'll see the Goddess has her own game show. The game is "less than/ greater than" game. She will pick a number and you have to guess the next number is bigger or smaller then her number. Once you miss one of the numbers then the game is over and you might get a prize.

Harvest Sprites
Just talk to them and you can play one per day per Sprites.
- The first game is about crop watering. You will have 25 little squares and when it's time to play 3 of them will light up in a certain order. It's your job to remember the order they appeared in and then use the A button to have the Sprite water that spot. If you water the spot in the correct order a plant will appear. You have 25 seconds to find all 3 spots correctly. After playing 3 rounds your score is tallied, when your Sprites get better at watering crops, the number of light-up squares will increase when playing the mini game.
- The second game is pulling a Turnip out of the ground. You have to press the A button at a steady pace in order to pull out the vegetable. The goal is to pull out as many Turnips as you can without breaking off the tops.
- The last game has your Sprite feeding 5 chickens. The object of the game is to feed the chickens as fast as you can. If the chicken runs out of food, it will walk to the bottom of the screen. If it reaches the bottom that's a point against your total score. The chickens eat quickly so try to keep their food bins full. You don't have to grab any food to feed them, just press the A button while standing in front of the food bin. If the bin is full though that will count as a mark against your total score. Likewise if the chicken completely runs off the edge of the screen then it's a bad point. As long as you don't get 10 bad points in 60 seconds then you'll clear the game.
You could get a little bonus item from aWL by linking your FoMt to aWL. When the two games connect, information is passed between them and changes a few things in both games. To begin, start both games, then in FoMT head to Goddess Pond and choose to connect. In aWL, go to mountain path and choose to connect. The two games will make some chiming noises and your screen will turn white. The game also auto-saves while transferring. The items you receive from the connectivity are based on your progress in both games. If you don't play through aWL, you won't get any goodies in FoMT and visa versa.
In both games you'll find a Record Player, in aWL the player is inside your house, in FoMT you have to connect up before you can purchase it from Van.

Besides Van, Ruby will also make an appearance. If you talk to her after connecting, she will give you recipes on how to cook a new food dish. In FoMT she will only tell you once, but in aWL she will ask if she needs to repeat her instructions.

After the connection has completed you'll notice the Harvest Goddess will display a screen filled with stars. There are 42 little stars for you to fill in. The Goddess will congratulate you after you have earned your last star in FoMT. As a reward she will give you the Seaside Cottage, a little house that sits off the shores of Mineral Beach. Inside the house you'll find a bed and a window, which displays different images depending on the time of day. During the Winter your beach house has little snowmen guarding the doorway.
After you connect to aWL there will be a new book that appears in the bookshelf on Library second floor. Inside the book you will find descriptions of all the characters in aWL.
