Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland

Story

In Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland you have to save the entire island. A big amusement park company wants to buy the land from the government and construct a big amusement park, but this would mean everyone has to leave. Throughout this game you must discover a way to stop them. There are nine different ways that you can stop the company from taking control of the island. Discover all nine and you will be loved by the entire island. This game is a little different than normal Harvest Moon games. Your play through the game only lasts for 1 year. Depending on the tasks you accomplished during that time, you can receive one of 9 different endings. This game also does not have a marriage system.

• Dog House: Need 5,000 G. Requirement have a dog (tame a wild dog).
• Kitchen: Need 10,000 G.

TV Channels

In StH, there are 3 channels that can get pretty indepth.

• Channel 1 - Weather: Tells you the percentage chance of it raining the next day. 0% means not raining. 20% means very slight chance raining. 40% means slight chance raining. 60% means high chance raining. 80% means very high chance raining. 100% means raining.
• Channel 2 - Farming Tips: Teach you various things about farming, from how to take care of Crops to how to raise your Animals.
• Channel 3 - Horoscopes: Predicts what type of day you will have according to your star sign. Although some people do not believe in Horoscopes, others do. It can be a fun thing to see if your Horoscope for the day was true or not.

Stamina

Each day your stamina start at 100% with Red Happy Face. While playing the game you use up energy by doing actions.

Wipes Sweat off Forehead (70% stamina left) → Taking a Breather (30% stamina left) → Collapsing (5% stamina left)

Power Berries

In StH there aren't many Power Berry. So far only 6 have been found, and many believe that there are only 6.

1. Go around your farm and cut all of the grass. This may take a while but eventually you will find a Power Berry.
2. On your farm use your hoe to till up the dirt. This one may also take some time but eventually you will find one.
3. Go fishing at Maple Lake and eventually you should catch a Power Berry.
4. Go to the Goddess in the morning without using any energy that day, throw in an offering and then ask for Energy. She will reward you with a Power Berry because you have not used any that day.
5. When you make it to the Sacred Land in the Treasure Hunt Part 2 Ending, use your hoe on the dirt in that area (near the star, heart, square, etc) and eventually you should till one up.
6. Flak will go missing one day, Nic and Nak will come and ask you to help find him. Use your dog to find him and in reward you will be given a Power Berry.

• Fine Silk: 3,000 G. Needed to complete "Goddess Dress" ending.
• Flute: Given by befriending Louis. Used to train your Dog and to complete "Bluebird" ending.
• Fodder: 30 G. Feed your Cows.
• Hoe: Given at start of game. Used to tilling soil (1 square).
• Milker: 1,800 G. Used to milking your Cows.
• Old Fishing Rod: Given by befriending Joe. Catch Junk and Small Fish, rare Medium Fish.
• Sickle: Given at start of game. Used to cut Grass (1 square).
• Silver Fishing Rod: Given by befriending Kurt. Upgrade from Super Fishing Rod. Catch legendary Silver fish.
• Super Fishing Rod: 4,500 G. Upgrade from Old Fishing Rod. Catch all size Fish.
• Super Sickle: 4,500 G. Upgrade from Sickle. Cut in 3x1 squre.
• Watering Can: Given at start of Game. Used to water plants.

Crops

There are only four crops, but all of the crops can be grown during Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each bag comes with one individual seed. You only need to water your crops on sunny days when it isn't raining, but sometimes it will rain during the night. If it rains during the night, you will not have to water your crops, because they will already be damp. Make sure not to plant seeds on rainy days because the rain will wash the seeds away.

Feeding: Put food in Dog Food Dish Grooming: Feed and Training Happiness: 1 - He is starting to like me, 2 - He comes to me when I whistle, 3 - I think he's starting to run faster now, 4 - He is getting smarter and he listens to what I say, 5 - A man's best friend, he is my buddy Misc: Bring inside your house when raining (buy a Dog House so you don't have to). You can train your Dog using Flute.

Get: Talk and Brush the Horse your like the most when do part-time job. One day Bob will give it to you. Grooming: Talk and Brush Happiness: 1 - We are getting along better, 2 - He can run now, 3 - He is running faster now, 4 - Top Speed. He runs like the wind, 5 - He is confident that he will not lose to anyone Misc: When Happiness level is 2, you can ride it across Village.

Dog Tricks

To train your dog you will need a Flute made by Louis. Not only give you Flute he also teach you how to play it. The more you train your dog, the more hearts he will gain. It may take some time before your dog reacts to some of the commands that you will play, but eventually he should react instantly when he loves you enough. To play the flute simply equip the flute, then press the Square button, after that holding down the X button while you use the other notes to play:

Fishing

To get a Fishing Rod you must befriend Joe. To cast your rod, equip it and press the Square button when standing next to the lake. A dark spot in the water will indicate where a fish is, so just use the left analog stick and the X button to maneuver your bobber over to it. When the fish bites, you'll see directional arrows appear. To reel in the fish just press the left-analog stick in the same direction the arrow is pointing and press the X button.

There are certain times in the day in which your chances of catching fish will be greatest. The best place to fish is at Maple Lake, and you can move around to fish in different areas around the lake.

• Sunny days: Morning - High, Afternoon - Low, Night - High
• Rainy Days: Morning - Very High, Afternoon - High, Night - Very Low

You can only sell Medium and Large Fish. Small Fish can be used for cooking up recipes. The Fish are typically Small sized in the Spring, Medium sized in the Summer/Fall and Large sized in the Winter.

Mining

Instead of going to a cave to mine you can simply mine on your own farm. If you have open spaces from where the crops go, you can till away with your hoe until you mine something up. You can hit the same spot over and over and still find some minerals. This is a good source of income, although it is hard on the stamina.

Before cooking, you must upgrade your House with Kitchen. To begin cooking, stand in front of the utensil you want to use and press the X button. You can then select up to 3 ingredients to use from your Rucksack, and then press the Start button when you're ready to cook. The items you stored in your Freezer are not available for ingredient selection so you'll have to put any of those items in your Rucksack if you want to use them in a recipe.

Part-time Job

There is one job in which you can work on a Sunny Day before 03:00 PM. The job is at Brownie Farm at the Farmer's Market. The job is a simple task. Simply Milk one cow, Brush the one cow and five horses, and Talk to the one cow and five horses. You will be given a Milker and a Brush to use during this time period. At the end of this job you will be able to keep the Milk as a bonus and sell it for Gold. The pay is simply 50 G per hour and 150 G for the Milk (small) if you decide to sell it.

This game have 9 different endings and your goal in this game is to complete these endings. Each ending ends up showing that something on this island is rare and the government will not allow the Theme Park Company to start building on the island.

1. A Fishy Story
   Befriends with Joe and Kurt. You'll get Fishing Pole from Joe. Fishing a few fish, go to Maple Lake for a scene. Joe will tell about the legendary Silver Fish. Few days later go to Maple Lake, Joe will tell you that he talk to Louis to make a better fishing pole for you. Next day go to Tool Shop, a Silver Fishing Pole is available to buy. Go to Maple Lake, Joe start doubting the legend are true and he catch a glimpse of Silver Fish. Talk to Kurt and he say that Silver Fish are God sent. Talk to Harvest Goddess and Sprites, she doesn't know about Silver Fish and gonna look it for you. Go to Maple Lake, Joe start discourage about the fish and the Sprites come and tell you that the Silver Fish only appear at Full Moon (day 14, 15, 29, 30). Kurt will stop by your farm, say he didn't believe nor disbelieve the legend and make deal with you. Kurt need some Herbs, collect at least 10 Herbs, give it to Kurt, and he'll give you a custom Fishing Pole for catching Silver Fish few days later. When Full Moon go fishing at Maple Lake. When you catch the Silver Fish, Joe will come and congratulated you. You release the fish, Joe ask and understand your action. You take the Silver Scale as a prove and give it to Joe. Then Joe send it to a Magazine Company. 1 week later Joe, Kurt and Katie stop by your farm, showing you a brochure about the Silver Fish. Since the fish is rare, the developer cannot develop here and the Lake will have a restricted fishing law. After the credits, you visit Joe who fishing the last time before the restriction arise. After a small talk Katie come saying still cannot figure out how to fishing and drag Joe to a date.
2. Azure Swallowtail
   Befriends with Kurt, Parsley and Lyla. Go to Walnut Forest, Kurt will mention that he hasn't see any Azure Swallowtail in ages. Woody come and mention that Azure Swallowtail like Blue Mist Flower. Talk to Harvest Goddess, she will tell you to find someone with flower knowledge. Talk to Lyla, she will explain that Blue Mist Flower is very delicate, rare and found only high in mountains where nothing damage the flower. Talk to Parsley, he will go and research and tell you the result. After a few days go to Tool Shop, Louis will show a camera to Lyla, saying it for capture image of the butterfly. About 1 week Lyla and Parsley stop by your farm, he tell you he found the flower and give you a bag of Blue Mist Flower seed. Go to Goddess Lake area, there's a specific spot to grow the flower (plant it at early Summer or it will die when Fall come), water the flower everyday it will bloom about 9 days. Once bloom, Parsley come and glad it works. When night the Harvest Goddess and the Harvest Sprites admiring the flower. Visit the flower everyday, one day the Azure Swallowtail will appear. Louis and Lyla come to admire the flower, then Louis set up the camera and take the picture of the butterfly with Lyla posing around it. Louis will send the picture and let you know the result. About 1 week go to Goddess Lake in evening, you'll see Lyla picking up the seeds from the flower and say she will sell it in her shop. Then Louis show up says that because the picture of rare butterfly is published, the island became a wildlife preserve and the developer cannot develop here. After the credits Louis and Lyla talking, then Lyla leave while Louis chase after her.
3. Bluebird
   Befriend with Louis. Go to Maple Lake after 06:00 PM, you will see Louis playing flute with birds flying around his head. You will walk to Louis, feed the birds together and he will give you a flute. About 1 week go to Maple Lake, you will see Lyla hiding in bush seeing Louis play flute. After a while you and Lyla come closer and Lyla ask Louis to play but he nervous and messed up. Lyla leave and Louis tell you about the Bluebird, Woody come and say the Bluebird is overhunted and hasn't seen any of them in years. About 1-2 weeks Louis will stop by your farm and ask if you practicing your flute. Say yeas and he will ask you to play with him in the Lake. When arrive a mini game will occur, you will play the notes after Louis play his note. The notes are color coded with the directional pad; Green = up, Blue = Down, Pink = Left, Red = Right. You are allowed to miss up to 6-7 out of 56 notes, here the code you must play: P, G, P, B, R, B, B, P, G, R, B, P, B, P, G, R, P, B, G, G, P, P, R, R, B, P, G, B, P, R, B, P, B, G, R, B, P, G, B, G, P, P, B, B, R, B, P, R, G, G, P, P, R, G, R, B, P. You must success in one go or you'll risk miss this ending. After playing the flute, a Bluebird will show up and drop a Blue Feather on the ground. Louis pick it up, wondering about it and runs back to his shop. Talk to Harvest Goddess and she tell she has no clue about what will happen. About 2 weeks Louis stop by your farm and tell you that the Blue Feather is rare the government won't the developer develop here. To celebrate this you and Louis go to Maple Lake to play the flute. After the credit Louis ask the significance of Blue Feather, you explain that it's given to your loved one. Lyla comes and thinks the story is sweet, then Louis gather his courage and give the feather to her.
4. Cake Contest
   Befriends with Katie, Dia and Gina. Go to Cafe/Bar, Katie want to enter the cake baking contest, but the problem is she's not a very good cook. She also heard a rumor that your grandmother make a superb cake. Wallace come and say that was the best cake he ever tasted, Gwen also come and comment on Katie making cake. Ask all the villager about the cake and go back to your house. Check the chest drawers on the left and you'll find your grandmother's recipe, then give it to Katie. She read it and she tell you she need a Golden Egg, Golden Milk, and Moondrop Dew. Wallace will say he never heard the Moondrop Dew before, then go to Clove's Villa. If you befriend with Dia, Dia will give book about Moondrop Dew to Katie. If you befriend with Gina, Dia trying to find the book but give up then Gina will find it and give to you then give it to Katie. After few days go to Cafe/Bar, Katie will tell you how to make the Moondrop Dew, it need to be created at Goddess Lake by Full Moon (day 14, 15, 29, 30) after 09:00 PM, and your true love will appear. Go to Goddess Lake, girl (or guy if you just befriend with Katie) with best relationship with you appear. After small talk a glowing urn appear, the urn start collecting the moon's light and she (or he) will give it to Katie. After few days go to Cafe/Bar, Katie will have sampling for you to taste test. You react in disgust, but Katie will promise you it will turn out fine for the contest. A few days later go to Cafe/Bar, Katie tell you she entered the contest and waiting the result. 1 week later Katie, Lyla and Gwen will stop by your farm and tell you the cake won the first prize and got write up. Now the island is famous for Katie's cake, the developer cannot develop here. After the credit Katie will talk about different places she want to go and she hopes you will wait for her to come back and you agree with that.
5. Endangered Weasel
   Befriends with Gwen. One day the Harvest Sprites will wake you up in the morning, they claim that some creature picking on them and want you to look at it. You and the Harvest Sprites go to Goddess Lake and hide behind the bush. You will see a furry white creature poking in and out the trees, Gwen comes and yells to stop threatening her friend Snowball the Weasel. Talk to Harvest Goddess, she will suggest you talk to all villager and spread rumor of it being rare. One day Gwen will stop by your farm, saying she want to save the island without exploiting the weasel and leave. About 1 week Gwen stop by your farm saying Louis made a camera and want to take picture. She will meet you at Goddess Lake at 07:00 PM. You arrive and with Gwen hide behind the bush, but this night isn't good night for the weasel so it didn't come out. About 2 weeks later Gwen stop by your farm and ask to meet at Goddess Lake at 07:00 PM. This time the weasel come out and Gwen take a bunch of picture. About 1 week Louis and Gwen stop by your arm and show you a book with the weasel picture in it and it's classified as an endangered species. Because of it this the island declared as a natural preserve and the developer cannot develop here. After the credit you and Gwen sit at top of your barn talk about what is right and wrong. She realize that everyone make mistake in life and all you can do is moving forward. Gwen ask you to bend down and kiss you in the cheek.
6. Goddess Dress
   Befriends with Gina, Katie, Dia and Louis. One day Gina stop by your farm talking about the Flower Festival in Flowerbud City (your hometown). She heard about the Goddess Dress that worn and want to make new design to amaze people at the festival and need you help. A few days later Katie stop by your farm to show you some sketches for Goddess Dress and Gina want you opinion. You describe a great detail about it making Katie wonder if you'd seen the Goddess yourself. Go to Clove's Villa, you will see Gina and Katie under a tree discussing ideas for Goddess Dress. Talk to Harvest Goddess, she tell you in order to make the right Goddess Dress you need Silk thread dyed in Very Berries and woven under the Moonlight. Flustered by this the Goddess explain you just need give her the thread and she sill take care of the rest. Go to Tool Shop to buy to Silk Thread and give it to the Goddess. About 2 weeks The Goddess and the Sprites stop by your farm, she hand you the Rainbow Cloth and the Sprites complain the Goddess give them so much work. Give Gina (must inside her house) the Cloth and she comment how beautiful it is. About 3-4 weeks go to Clove's Villa, you see Gina and Katie under a tree sewing the dress and Gina comment Dia would be great model for the dress. Next morning Gina and Dia stop by your farm saying she sending it to Flowerbud City for the festival. About 1 week Gina, Dia and Katie stop by your farm tell you the the dress win the first place. They will set up dye workshop and sewing classes at Sugar valley. Then the Goddess will say the village will become noisy but the island is saved. After the credit Gina stop by your Farm saying thanks to your help motivated her to make it until the end. Then Gina get embarrassed the runs off with you chase her.
7. Horse Race
   Befriends with Bob and Gwen & have a Horse with 5 hearts. When you could ride you horse, Bob will come while you brushing your horse and compliment you could ride the horse and your ability to train it. Gwen show up and state everybody can ride a horse and no one can beat her horse. When your horse at 5 heart, Bob will come and congratulate you having such nice horse and it's time for horse racing. Go to Brownie Farm, chose the Time Attack race (race around 3 times). Bob say you must beat Gwen's time 52 seconds (don't need to beat it in one time). About 2 weeks after beating Gwen's record, Bob stop by your farm and challenge you to race against him (if not now challenge him on Thursday). After beating Bob he will comment your horse is ready for race and Gwen show up challenge you. Beat Gwen and she say your horse is the best and Bob will say to take care of your horse because the race is in 2 weeks. A few days later Gwen stop by your farm say she's disappointed losing to you and give you Lucky Charm so your horse win. 1 week after beating Bob and Gwen, Bob come to make sure you taking care your house and remind you the race is in 1 week. 1 week later Bob stop by your farm to pick your horse, but you didn't participate but Bob ensure you he will take good care and good job at race. Next day Bob and Gwen stop by your farm tell that your horse won and the next year race will be held at the island. Because of this the developer cannot develop here and the island is saved. After the credit you, Bob and Gwen on the race track, talk a little bit and racing around the track.
8. Treasure Hunt I
   Befriends with Tim and Bob & have dog with 5 heart. When your dog have 5 heart show it to Tim, he will surprised and exited. A few days later Tim stop by your farm say he found treasure map and need your help dig up the treasure. Go to Walnut Forest, Tim will follow the map and find the location, then you will dig up the spot Tim tell you. You found a chest and open it, it full with bunch of old toys and junk. Bob come and tell when he was a kid he buried it here and forgotten about it, state that time this was very important to him but now it aren't important anymore. A few days later Tim stop by your farm he found treasure map about Sacred Land of Praria Forest and give a copy for you. Talk to Harvest Goddess and she say if your dog smart enough it will find the Sacred Land. Go to Clove's Villa are and your dog will start running around the Villa to the hill left from the Villa. Chase your dog and you'll automatically in Sacred Land of Praria Forest. Tim come after hearing your dog bark and compliment how smart it is, and with you start venturing the Praria Forest. You will find a large Stone tablet with field and a well, then Tim examined the tablet for a while and leave because he think it just a wasteland. Read the tablet and it says "Plant crops as land tells you and gold will appear", with detailed information which crops to plant. There are 4 different symbols; Star - Root plant (Potato), Square - Yellow plant (Corn), Musical note - Brown plant (Breadfruit), Heart - Red plant (Tomato). After 8 days since planting go to Sacred Land, there a treasure chest sitting next to the Stone Tablet. Tim come and congratulate you find the treasure and open the chest, then Tim mention it was a seed and he want to grow them. Tim ask Lyla if he could plant the seed in her flower bed and she agree. A few days later Tim stop by your farm and tell the seed has sprouted, two of you go to Flower Shop and question what kind of flower is it. About 2 week Tim stop by your farm and tell that the flower blooming, you two go to Flower Shop and Lyla say the flower has a glow then parsley say it's like golden light. Lyla remember her grandmother telling her a golden fruit that this flower bears, and Parsley will investigate it further. A few days later Tim stop by your farm and tell the fruit is ready to dug up, you two go to Flower Shop with Parsley and Lyla there. After digging it up, Tim comment it like potato, Gwen and Woody come then Parsley comment that it was a Golden Sweet Potato, incredibly hard and nutritious. It rumored to give eternal life and nicknamed the "Fruit of Happiness". Woody remember how back in days this was the only food upon his arrival and Gwen suggest to have a Sweet Potato Festival. Next day go to Walnut Forest and see everyone preparing for the festival, then Parsley announce that he sent it to the lab and they found a lot of interest in this plant. It can be used to fees starving people and because of this no theme park will be built due the island great potential with this plant. After the credit you, your dog and Tim walk around your farm, he talk about the island saved and happy to have a place to return. He talk going off on adventure and have you to stay to hear his tales and he walk out.

   Befriends with Tim, Bob and Dia. When your dog have 5 heart show it to Tim, he will surprised and exited. A few days later Tim stop by your farm say he found treasure map and need your help dig up the treasure. She says she will practice cooking more often and says she is happy at Clove's Villa and she is glad that you two are friends. Throughout the process she has become more nice and less selfish. She then states that she is in love with you and kisses you on the cheek.
